Travelling to Allgäu
Arriving by air
If you plan to arrive by air, the closest airports are Allgäu Airport in Memmingen, Lake Constance Airport in Friedrichshafen and the airports in Munich and Stuttgart. You can continue your journey by bus or train from all the airports.
Arriving by rail
Allgäu is easy to reach by rail from anywhere in Germany and neighbouring countries. Allgäu enjoys a quick and comfortable rail service from Munich via the Allgäu Express (ALEX) to Oberstdorf and Lindau. Within Allgäu you can reach many sights by rail too. Infos: www.bahnland-bayern.de
Arriving by car
Two motorways run across Allgäu: the A7 from Ulm to Füssen and the A96 from Lindau to Munich. All the larger towns have car parks where you can leave the car, also for longer periods.
Fly to Memmingen Airport and discover the beautiful Allgäu Region. Memmingen Airport is directly located at the motorway intersection A7/A96 and just 60 minutes by car west of Munich.
