100K from Kempten to Oberstdorf and back
The starting point is the parking lot of the cheese dairy Edelweiss in the south of Kempten, which may be used for private parking on the weekend. At the beginning we cross the river Iller by means of the pedestrian bridge at the "Alte Bleiche", a restaurant directly at the river. Then we ride south: on bike paths past the Öschle Lake and at the castle ruins of Sulzberg - on a beautiful side road along the Rottachberg. We continue via Burgberg, ride around Sonthofen and via Rubi to Oberstdorf. From here, the tour leads back north to Immenstadt on the western side of the Iller valley. Here we pass the picturesque villages Obermaiselstein, Bolsterlang and Ofterschwang. To reach our goal of 100 kilometers, we make a loop around the Alpsee at Immenstadt and then take the old B19 road back to Waltenhofen (about 12km of busy roads). Here we turn again on calmer side roads and reach our starting point after exactly 100 kilometers.
